Playoff time Again!

What a day for sport, eh chaps?!  It's your old buddy Skip, back again.  The World Cup kicks off in South America and the Spring 2014 Men's 16" B-level Softball League playoffs commence at historic Hamlin Park here in the great city of Chicago.  Wait, what's that?

beep beeb beeb buhdeep beep beep Hot off the wire sports fans, straight from the speakeasys of the Biiihg Apple, comes word that the 6pm game tonight is going to be a real humdinger.  2 highly skilled opponents with surprisingly similar run differentials go head-to-head for the chance to move onto the finals.  Now the boys out east got an extra crease in their khakis for this match-up, if you get my meaning.  Millies has only played but 5 regular season games and managed to cobble together a 43 run differential over their opponents.  That's more runs than you get after eating at that new Brazilian place having only gin for an appetizer.  It's a hot-bottom affair, let me tell you - I'm convinced it's from the annatto they use down there.  Now that said, the Masterbatters are the team to beat from this radio personality's perspective.  Year after year I hear the old boys talk of the 'batters over their gigglewater.  And one doesn't get to be as famous as ol' Skip here without knowing one's onions.  They've got a thicker defense than old Zhang Zuolin's got with his wall!  When the Masterbatters throw a couple feet over the 4th bag and they're a tough bunch to outlast.

I'm not beating my gums when I tell you that this game won't be an easy one for either side.  So, make a note in your ledger to root on those golden boys of summer and cheer for the Masterbatters.  Should be a great night for a ballgame.
